The State Fund for Agriculture - SFA allocates a budget of100 000 BGN for 2024 under the scheme "Aid for the certification of farms in the fruit and vegetables sector to the GLOBALG.A.P. standard"
For the current programming period, the aid was re-notified in 2023 and is registered under the number SA.107345 in the State Aid Register of the European Commission and has an implementation period until the end of 2029. The total maximum budget notified for the implementation period 2023-2029 is 1 000 000 BGN.
The Government aid covers part of the costs incurred by farmers in certifying their holdings to the GLOBALG.A.P. standard for fruit and vegetables.
The aim of the aid is to support producers applying the GLOBALG.A.P. standard to optimise production processes, rational use of water resources, reduce the use of harmful chemicals and reduce adverse environmental impacts.
The GRASP module, which is also part of the aid-funded costs, ensures decent working conditions, non-discrimination and fair pay for farm workers.
The aid is granted to producers of agricultural products as an annual incentive in the form of a payment, the amount of which is determined in accordance with the amount of so-called 'fixed costs'.
The aid is granted for a maximum period of seven years and is limited to:
– 1 500 BGN with included VAT, per beneficiary per year;
– 6 000 BGN with included VAT, per beneficiary per year;
One of the mandatory conditions for its provision is that the producer/groups of producers provide a valid accredited certificate according to the GLOBALG.A.P. standard. The application period starts on 19.02. and will last until 30.10.2024.
